THE BACHELORETTE PARTY –

For the Bride and the Bridesmaids, the bachelorette party is the only pre-wedding party where everyone can really let their hair down. No formal manners or boyfriend worries here, this is the Bride’s last Hurrah!

In addition to providing an opportunity to bond with the girls and blow off some stream, the bachelorette party will act as a distraction for the Bride from the pre wedding jitters.

A bachelorette party can be as wild and crazy as dragging the Bride through a series of bars, dressed in a ridiculous outfit with the grand finale a male stripper to a spa day with good friends, enjoying each others company and relaxing before the big day. Take your lead form the Bride – plan a bachelorette party that she will remember and cherish.

Who Will Host the Party?

With the Maid of Honor leading the way, it is the Bridesmaids who plan and host the night of fun. Be sure to consider everyone’s feelings and try to be considerate of bridesmaids who may not consume alcohol or be underage. We have lots of suggestions for alternate bachelorette parties that do not include drinking.

The Guest List

Invitations to the bachelorette party may be restricted to the Bridal party, or be extended to all the important female members of the wedding guest list. Close friends, coworkers and significant others of the Bride should be included. Don’t forget the girls on the Grooms side – sisters, friends etc.

Who Pays for What?

  • Depending on her finances, the Maid of Honor may offer to pay for the bachelorette party herself or she may ask for help from the Bridal Party.
  • Often the Maid of Honor will host the party and ask each guest to bring an appetizer.
  • If the party will be held in a restaurant, each guest should pay their own way.
  • Bachelorette parties, where drinking will be taking place, are smart to arrange a bus, taxis or limos to transport the guests, this cost should be divided amongst each invitee.

Planning Tips….

Once you have discussed with the Bride who will be invited, consulted with the Bridesmaids on the venue and decided the theme of the party, it is time to invite the guests. Formal invitations are not necessary, although printed ones can set the tone of a theme bachelorette party, and email works as well as word of mouth.

Have the Bride wear an outfit that will set her apart from the rest. Nothing as tacky as an old wedding dress or as outrageous as an oversized bra, something very glamorous and fun to make sure that everyone knows SHE is the Bride!
