How many attendants is right for your wedding party?

Bridal parties range anywhere from a single Bridesmaid or Maid of Honor to more than a dozen attendants. If you’re planning a small, intimate wedding, you should opt for a smaller bridal party. If on the other hand you will be having a large formal wedding, more is better. Some wedding experts agree that a good rule of thumb is to have one groomsman and one bridesmaid for every 50 guests. Remember – nothing is written in stone and all rule are made to be broken! A large wedding party tends to fit in better at a large, formal wedding, and a smaller wedding party will not dominate an intimate affair.

More bridesmaids doesn’t mean merrier….

The more people in your wedding party, the more opinions will be voiced, the more bridesmaids you have, the more complicated choosing the right dress becomes. If you are on a tight budget, consider that you will be expected to pay for some if not all of the Bridesmaids expenses. This may include the dresses, accessories, shoes, bouquets, hair styles and in some cases travel and hotel.
